Northernmost Paradise of Goa
Goa is synonymous to many things that are indicative of a life
without worries and carefree measures. Although it is one of the smallest
states in India, it offers variety of beaches to suit any holiday style whether
the priority is relaxation, partying or experiencing culture; Goa has beaches
to satisfy all visitors.
All beaches have their own distinctiveness and beauty. So I
am going to give you a complete guide to travel northernmost part of Goa. It
includes Arambol beach, Mandrem beach, Morjim beach, Querim beach, Kalacha beach, Sweet Water lake, Tiracol Fort, Alorna Fort.
Begin your trip from Arambol beach as many accommodations are
available at affordable rate like guesthouses, hostels, hotels etc. Now the
question is “How to reach Arambol beach?” From Vasco De Gama railway station,
walk straight out from the exit and follow the road to the end, pass parked private
buses and on right will be a bus stand with local buses to Panji at Rs.37.From
Panji bus station, catch local bus to Mapusa at Rs.15 and from there ask for
the bus to Arambol at Rs 30. It will drop you off in front of HDFC bank ATM. Rickshaws
are rarely seen. Arambol is located approx. two hour drive from the Dabolim
Airport and it will cost you around Rs 1500 to 2500.
Once you reach Arambol beach, you can find your
suitable accommodation. Rent for guesthouse begins from Rs 500 per person per
night, Rs 200 for hostels and Rs 700 for beach huts. Scooters or Bikes can
rented from nearly every guesthouse or from taxi guys who hang around street
corner and beach parking lot. Scooty or Bike is the best way to hang around as you can spot
any number of places you want and it will cost you around Rs 150 to 300 per
day(bikes prices range from Rs 400 – 800 per day) excluding petrol expenses.
You have to fill petrol yourself in vehicle. Cars can also be rented at cost of Rs 1000 to
2000. Local Buses are also available but they will not drop you at exact place.
